Tessa currently leads the Work Experience team for IBM’s CIO organization, a business unit of more than 12,000 employees worldwide. With a degree in communications design, Tessa started her career in branding and advertising, and eventually co-owned an agency in New York City with two partners for 10+ years. Through her work, she saw that the employee experience was central to an organization’s success — particularly in times of change — and gravitated toward projects that gave her the opportunity to influence employee engagement, which she did for American Express and BASF, among others. In 2017, Tessa joined AlphaSights, a high-growth global professional services firm, as VP of Brand Communications. One of her key missions at the firm was to drive changes to internal communications, culture, recognition, and other factors that influence engagement. Her work led AlphaSights to win several employer awards such as Best Places to Work (Crain’s NY) and Best Workplaces for Women (Great Places to Work UK). She joined IBM in 2019, excited to make an impact on a Fortune 100 organization with an important mission in the world and a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. Her scope encompasses onboarding, learning and development, internship programs, career paths, recognition, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. In 2021, Tessa was recognized as a Top 100 Women in Tech: http://top100tech.org/2021/
